Kuorolaulu
Musiikkilukion kuoro on sekakuoro. Se on avoin kaikille lukion opiskelijoille. Kuorossa laulaminen keskittyy yhdessä laulamiseen, yleensä 4-äänisesti. Ohjelmisto koostuu sekä kotimaisesta että ulkomaisesta musiikista. Tyylilajit vaihtelevat klassisesta rytmimusiikkiin. Kappaleiden harjoittamisen lisäksi kuorossa tutustutaan äänenmuodostuksellisiin seikkoihin, opetellaan vapaata ja tervettä äänenkäyttötapaa. Kuoro esiintyy koulun juhlatilaisuuksissa ja tekee yhteistyötä koulun orkesterin ja yhtyeiden kanssa. Kuoro tekee myös yhteistyötä esimerkiksi erilaisten koulutustoimijoiden, kuten ammattikorkeakoulujen kanssa.
The choir is a mixed choir and is open to all students of the school. Singing in the choir focuses on ensemble performance, typically in four-part harmony. The repertoire includes both Finnish and international music, with styles ranging from classical to popular music.
In addition to rehearsing repertoire, choir members become familiar with vocal technique and learn healthy, free voice production. The choir performs at school events and collaborates with the school orchestra and other ensembles. It also cooperates with various educational institutions.
Yhtyelaulu
Opiskelijat voivat perustaa lauluyhtyeitä ja pyytää niihin viikottaista ohjausta laulunopettajilta. Lauluyhtyeille on paljon esiintymismahdollisuuksia sekä koulussa että koulun ulkopuolella. Musiikkilukiossa on lukuisia erilaisia lauluyhtyeitä (duot, triot, kvartetit).
Students can form vocal ensembles and receive weekly coaching from singing teachers. There are many performance opportunities for these ensembles both within the school and outside it. The school has numerous different vocal groups, including duos, trios, and quartets.
